From Singapore, travel up through the lush jungles of Malaysia. Experience “tiger territory”on a wildlife excursion in Taman Negara National Park, joining us in our mission to supportefforts to safeguard the endangered Malayan tiger. DAY 1 - SINGAPORE – GEMAS
Board the striking green and cream carriages of the Belmond Eastern & Oriental Express at Woodlands Station, Singapore. Settle into your air-conditioned cabin, a sanctuary of cherrywood panelling, Thai silks and Malaysian embroidery.
As the train travels through lush, green landscapes, it sets the scene for your immersion into wild Malaysia. Weave through tangled jungle, rubber and palm plantations, soaking up the vistas as your stewardserves a healthy afternoon tea in your cabin.
Soon, evening falls and it’s time to dress fordinner in the Dining Car.
Indulge in sustainable specialities enhanced with herbs and plants sourced from remote regions.
Afterwards, enjoy engaging onboard entertainment with anightcap.
DAY 2 -TAMAN NEGARA - KUALA LUMPUR
After breakfast in your cabin, admire the views of the Jungle Line as the train coursesthrough some of the wildest parts of Malaysia.
Following lunch on board, you arrive at Merapoh station and alight for an extraordinary experience. Conservation is at the heart ofthe Belmond Eastern & Oriental Express philosophy and the Malayan tiger is the national animal of Malaysia, emblazoned on both the coat of arms and our train’s emblem.
As part of our ongoing partnership with Save Wild Tigers, we invite you to discover the “tiger territory” of Taman Negara National Park, meeting local villagers and organisations who are working onthe ground to protect this noble, critically endangered wild cat and its habitat. Taman Negara was formed 130 million years ago, making it one of the oldest tropical rainforests inthe world. The dense jungle, wide rivers and lush mountains are home to wildlife rangingfrom water buffalo to macaques, tapirs to hornbills – a true explorer’s paradise.
Returning to the train, a lively evening with local entertainment awaits in the Piano Bar Car, precededby a delicious dinner.
Day 3 - WEST-COAST LINE – PENANG
Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board, before alighting for the crossing to Penang Island.
Here,we’ve created a choice of immersions that make the most of Malaysia’s cultural melting pot.
- Art lovers can explore Georgetown Old Quarter with a guide, delving into temples, acontemporary studio and an opera and puppet house.
- Food aficionados can embark on adiscovery of Peranakan cooking, purchasing specialities from spice and grocery storesbefore mastering delicious local dishes in a cookery class.
- For those who prefer to explore independently, we present you with a tri-shaw, a driver and a map, so that you canwind through Georgetown’s enchanting streets and visit its attractions at whim.
Rejoin the train at Butterworth for a convivial final evening on board with sublime cuisine and fabulousentertainment.
Day 4 - JOHOR – SINGAPORE
Linger over breakfast in your cabin or the Dining Car as you travel through the southernmost state of Johor, known for its beaches and rainforest.
Soon afterwards, the train crosses the strait to Singapore, where you disembark with your magical memories
BELMOND EASTERN AND ORIENTAL EXPRESS - CABINS
After a four-year break, Eastern & Oriental is back with redesigned interiors. It will return to the rails with 15 restyled carriages including eight sleeping cars, two restaurant cars, a Piano Bar Car and the iconic open-air Observation Car. Total train capacity : 64 passengers

- Pullman Cabin (10 cabins)
Dimensions are 5.8 sq m. Daytime seating converts to upper and lower berths at night. Cabins are fully air-conditioned with en-suite shower, toilet, hair dryer and a personal safe.
- State Cabin (20 cabins)
Dimensions are 7.8 sq m. Daytime seating converts to two single beds at floor level at night. Cabins are fully air-conditioned with en-suite shower, toilet, hair dryer and a personal safe.
- Presidential Suite (2 cabins)
Dimensions are 11.6 sq m. Daytime seating converts to two single beds at floor level at night. There is ample room to entertain one or two of your fellow guests in the daytime configuration. Cabins are fully air-conditioned with en-suite shower, toilet, hair dryer, CD player and a personal safe. A complimentary mini bar and WiFi is also available.
An elevated menu of contemporary dishes rooted in the Peranakan culture awaits guests of the Belmond Eastern & Oriental Express. A blend of Chinese, Malay, and other Southeast Asian culinary influences that originated in the Straits Settlements of Penang, Malacca, and Singapore, Peranakan cuisine is known for its bold flavours, intricate preparation methods and the use of local ingredients.
Lunch and dinner will be served in the two dining carriages Adisorn and Malaya along with breakfast on alternate mornings. Remaining breakfasts and Afternoon Tea will be served in the comfort of guest cabins.
